      • Correct Answer: IFGC – 304.6.1, 125 + 65 = 190 / 2 = 95 in-sq, so need 10″ x 10″

(2)  To cool down 20 pounds of water from 85 degrees F to 45, how much heat must be removed?          

      • Correct Answer: MR&AC – BTU = 20# x (85-45) BTU 20 x 40, BTU = 800 BTUs

(3)  Solve for normal ventilation given that 3 persons occupy a machinery room containing refrigerant. This room is 400 square foot. Normal ventilation requirement is how many CFM?

      • Correct Answer: IMC – 1105.6.3.1, 0.5 CFM x 400′, sq = 200 CFM
